The Script announce huge headline show

The Script have announced a huge headline show at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre, celebrating their fourth UK No.1 album Freedom Child.

They’ll play Europe’s largest open-air theatre on Thursday 21 June 2018.

The band have sold more than 29 million records since bursting onto the scene in 2008. They’ve released tracks such as We Cry, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, For The First Time, Superheroes, and their huge collaboration with will.i.am Hall of Fame.

Freedom Child led by single Rain reached the top of the UK Official Albums Chart, with the single’s video receiving more than 26 million views.

More recently they’ve unveiled the clip for Open Arms.

“The response to the new album has been fantastic and we cannot wait to take it out on the road in 2018,” says the band’s lead singer Danny O’Donoghue, who is joined by guitarist Mark Sheehan and drummer Glen Power.

“We’ve never played Scarborough Open Air Theatre before so we are really looking forward to heading to the Yorkshire coast. We hope you can join us to rock in this beautiful setting and what promises to be a fantastic atmosphere on the night.”

The show joins their huge UK run, and a 2018 which will also see them play at TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow, and the Isle of Wight Festival.

Speaking of their huge show at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre, promoter Peter Taylor says: “We cannot think of a better Christmas present for Yorkshire fans of The Script than to announce this sensational band are heading to Scarborough OAT in 2018!”

“The Script have sold out arenas around the world and are quite rightly regarded as one of the UK’s best live bands. This gig is going to be something really special.”
