One of the undisputed highlights of the UK’s festival season is back from 5 – 15 July 2018.
With their recent album Freedom Child launching to No.1 on the UK Official Album Chart, seeing off the likes of LCD Soundsystem and OMD, The Script have announced two more dates on their UK and Ireland arena tour dates.
Their new music has also seen them top the iTunes chart in their native Ireland, as well as a further 13 countries. It’s broken into the Top 10 on iTunes in 47 other markets across the globe.
Their UK and Ireland tour will kick off in Leeds on the 2 February 2018, totalling thirteen dates including two at Dublin’s 3Arena. They’ll wrap up the run with two headline shows at London’s O2 Arena on the 23 February.
The extra dates will take place at the Bournemouth International Centre on Thursday 22 February 2018, and a second date at London’s O2 on Saturday 24 February 2018.
Rain, the lead single from the album, celebrated being playlisted by BBC Radio 1, Radio 2, and Capital, and at the time of writing is the 3rd most played song on national radio.
Freedom Child is The Script’s fifth studio album, and first since 2014’s No Sound Without Silence.
The Script played a handful of comparably intimate shows across the UK in August 2017 in celebration of their new music. These arena dates promise tracks from across the Irish trio’s back-catalogue.
