Synth-pop legends Soft Cell have announced a one-off UK show. They’ll take to London’s O2 on Sunday 30 September 2018 for their first UK show in fifteen years.

Titled Say Hello, Wave Goodbye, Marc Almond and Dave Ball will reunite for the 40th anniversary show, which will also be their only and last ever Soft Cell performance.

Soft Cell emerged as one of the most influential electronic music groups in the 1980s, releasing five albums of original material from their Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret debut, through 1983’s The Art Of Falling Apart to 2002’s Cruelty Without Beauty.

Hits such as Memorabilia, Torch and Say Hello, Wave Goodbye have established Soft Cell as pioneers in their art. Their huge song Tainted Love continues to define a generation.

Both Marc Almond and Dave Ball have established successful solo careers since Soft Cell disbanded, with Almond awarded an Ivor Novello Inspiration Award in 2013, as well as an OBE this year.

Ball formed The Grid, releasing hit song Swamp Thing, and producing and writing for the likes of Kylie Minogue, and remixing for David Bowie, Pet Shop Boys, Eurasue and more.

“With Soft Cell I always felt something was unfinished,” Marc Almond says of the reunion. “This last ever final show will be the best ever ending. It will be a real statement and send off, and thank you to every fan.”

Dave Ball adds: “We live in very interesting times, and 2018 promises to be a very special year”.

Tickets for Soft Cell’s final show at London’s The O2 on Sunday 30 September 2018 go on sale at 9:00 on Friday 23 February 2018 through Ticketmaster.co.uk.
