During the August bank holiday weekend, Clapham Common will once again play host to a matchless line-up of electronic music giants that include Marshmello, Chase & Status and Dizzee Rascal, all cranking out awesome beats in one of London’s most glorious grassy spaces.

And that’s only part of the picture – you can expect loads more from South West Four! Earlier this week, organisers unveiled the full stage splits for 25 and 26 August. So with just over four months to go, we think it’s a great time to heighten your anticipation by highlighting some of the things happening at this whopper of a festival!

Then and now

Sure, SW4 has a reputation for bringing in the hottest names in dance music. It’s been doing that since first coming onto the scene from its humble club beginnings in 2001. After upsizing to a one-day event in 2003, SW4 has only grown bigger and better. Now a massive two-day event held right in the heart of the capital, it’s won countless awards and is considered London’s premier electronic music festival.

This year, to commemorate the 15th-anniversary edition, SW4’s organisers have pulled out all the stops. They’ve partnered with Capital, the UK’s No.1 hit music brand, to assemble a fantastic line-up of globe-trotting DJs. Capital FM is not only hosting the main stage, but there will also be a Capital Weekender stage featuring a wide range of unmissable dance music acts and a Capital XTRA stage boasting top hip hop, grime and RnB artists.

What’s new for 2018?

Bassline house burst out of Northern England in the late ’90s. You’ll want to check out SW4’s new Bassline Carnival stage, which will celebrate the reviving scene with a line-up that includes Holy Goof, Darkzy b2b Skepsis, The Heatwave b2b Dre Skull and Flux Pavillion. You can also feed your appetite for bass courtesy of the Amnesia Presents Together showcase, which will welcome DJ EZ, Sub Focus, Hannah Wants, Basement Jaxx and more.

Serious headline talent

Prepare for an energetic, undeniably danceable line-up on Saturday. Leading the pack at SW4 in a UK festival exclusive is Marshmello, one of the true characters of electronic music. Known for selling out stadiums and topping charts, the anonymous dance music producer is among the world’s most revered and highest paid DJs. Famous for collaborating with artists like Omar LinX and Slushii as well as remixing songs by Zedd, Marshmello has been busy releasing loads of new music in 2018. Plus, earlier this week he and Logic premiered a video for their timeless track EVERYDAY.

Joined in headlining SW4 are London-based Chase & Status, who will mark their milestone 15th year of making music with a hometown show on Sunday. Formed in 2003, the duo have taken dubstep and drum’n’bass from the underground and put it on the charts. So get ready for a parade of bangers that’s sure to include All Goes Wrong, Blind Faith, End Credits and many more!

Saturday will also see sets on the main stage from the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Sigma and Jax Jones, while Sunday features Craig David Presents TS5, Andy C and Stefflon Don.

Lots more to be excited about further down the line-up!

SW4 will lay on a huge programme – over 100 thrilling acts performing across five stages during the weekend. While it’s natural to focus on the main stage, there’ll be a whole wide world of electronic goodness to be discovered around the festival grounds. For example, on Saturday Benny Benassi, Cheat Codes and tropical house producer Klingande will appear on the brand new Capital Weekender stage. Then on Sunday, you can head over to the Capital XTRA stage and be wowed by Lethal Bizzle, Kojo Funds and Yungen. Plus, Detroit house legend MK and Dutch wunderkind Oliver Heldens will each curate stages in addition to playing DJ sets throughout the weekend.

The afterparty

When the action ends on Clapham Common, Electric Brixton will open its doors for Bassline Carnival, the official South West Four after party. The event promises a very special guest headliner to be announced.

Tickets are available now through our friends at Ticketweb.

Remember last year…

What a weekend! Like all editions of SW4, last year’s was one of the best ever. Returning for their first live UK performance in six years, Pendulum put on a party like never before. The 14th edition of the festival also featured deadmau5 in his only London performance of 2017, and we were in sheer dance heaven thanks to sets from Knife Party, Gareth Emery, Nicky Romero and Disciples.

So get ready, get set…taking place 25 – 26 August at London’s Clapham Common, the race to SW4 is on.

Be warned, tickets will increase in price from midday on Wednesday 2 May 2018.

If you haven’t booked your spot yet, don’t wait or you might miss out. Both day and weekend tickets are on sale now at ticketmaster.co.uk.
