Kevin Parker has confirmed that he’ll be bringing his psychedelic music project Tame Impala to the UK this summer.

The newly announced shows will see Tame Impala take to the stage at two special headline gigs in London and Blackpool in June 2019.

The shows come in the middle of a packed festival season for the musician, which kicks off with a headline slot at Coachella this weekend.

Tame Impala’s new single Patience dropped last month. The atmospheric cut has set the streaming counters spinning and the musician recently performed the track live on US TV, during the Sandra Oh hosted episode of Saturday Night Live. Check out the performance below:

Tame Impala was created in Perth, Australia by Kevin Parker who has released three studio albums under the moniker so far. Tame Impala’s latest release, 2015’s LP Currents is his most successful to date, with the album reaching the top 5 on the official UK, US and Australian charts. The album received a tidal wave of critical praise and earned Parker a GRAMMY Award nomination. The record also won Tame Impala a BRIT Award for Best International Group in 2016.

Some of Tame Impala’s best-known tracks include Elephant, Feels Like We Only Go Backwards, Let It Happen, Cause I’m a Man and The Less I Know the Better.

As a writer and producer, Kevin Parker has worked with artists such as Travis Scott, Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Kanye West, Kali Uchis and more.

The musician is currently working on a fourth Tame Impala studio album, expected to be released at some point during 2019.

Catch Tame Impala at the following UK dates this summer:

8 June 2019 – The O2, London
24 June 2019 – Empress Ballroom, Blackpool
