Liverpudlian indie-rockers The Zutons have confirmed they’ll be reuniting in 2019 for a run of UK tour dates, celebrating the 15th anniversary of their seminal album Who Killed….. The Zutons? which they’ll be playing in full at the shows.

The newly announced tour kicks off in Birmingham on 26 March 2019, taking in shows in Glasgow, Manchester, London, Bristol, Nottingham and Leeds before finishing with a huge hometown headline date at Olympia, Liverpool on 5 April 2019.

The new dates will be the first time the band has toured together almost a decade.

Forming in Liverpool in 2001, The Zutons found huge success with their debut album Who Killed….. The Zutons?. The 2004 release has achieved platinum sales status in the UK, and peaked at No.6 on the Official UK Albums Chart. The band released five singles from the album: Pressure Point, You Will You Won’t, Remember Me, Don’t Ever Think (Too Much) and Confusion and the band received a Mercury Prize nomination for the effort.

After their debut, The Zutons release two more albums, 2006’s Tired of Hanging Around and 2008’s You Can Do Anything before they disbanded in 2009.

Masters of writing a catchy tune, highlights from the band’s output include Oh Stacey (Look What You’ve Done), Whey Won’t You Give Me Your Love and Valerie. The latter track became a huge hit for Mark Ronson and the late Amy Winehouse, who was a massive fan of the single.

After eight years apart, the band reunited for a one-off charity event in 2016 in celebration of their close friend Kristian Ealey. This then set the wheels in motion for the newly announced tour.

Speaking about the reunion, frontman Dave McCabe said: “We’ve all been off doing our own thing for a little while, and it’s only with hindsight and a bit of space that you see how special something really is. It’s easy to take things for granted when you’re younger, but now it’s just amazing to think of those songs still having a place in the world, and for people to come and hear us play them again”.

Don’t miss The Zutons playing Who Killed….. The Zutons? in full and more when they tour in Spring 2019.
