Search Box, the new single from Oxford indie pop makers Low Island manages to simultaneously make you question society’s reliance on search engines, as well as making you want to get up and dance.

It’s the latest release from a band that isn’t frightened to intertwine high concept ideas with danceable pop tunes. The track has received praise from the likes of NME, Dork, BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson.

From Oxfordshire, the four-piece, comprised of DJ/Producers Jamie Jay and Carlos Posada with bassist Jacob Lively and drummer Felix Higginbottom, have been making a name for themselves with a succession of EPs and singles released over the past 2 years.

Fresh from supporting Crystal Fighters on a run of European dates, including a sold out show at O2 Academy Brixton, the band have just announced they’ll be heading out on their Shut Out The Sun tour this autumn.

The tour’s name comes from the Michael Zielenziger authored book Shutting Out The Sun, which examines the world of the Japanese Hikikomori; a generation of (mostly) men, who have shut themselves off from society because of perceived failings in their lives.

To coincide with the latest tour announcement, we asked Carlos, Jacob, Felix and Jamie from the band to pick out their favourite tunes to listen to on the road, and tell us a bit about them.

“I love how Rosalía is bringing so many styles together in such a unique way. I finally got to see her at Glastonbury; it was my favourite set of the weekend and this song was the highlight”. – Carlos
