Vampire Weekend announce brand new 2019 UK tour dates

The band come back to the UK in November.

Following their recently announced intimate London shows selling out in record time, Vampire Weekend have confirmed they’ll be returning to the UK later this year.

The newly announced dates will see the New York band take to the stage at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on 7 November 2019, before heading to Manchester, Birmingham and London.

Indie rockers Vampire Weekend broke through in 2008 with the release of their self-titled debut LP. The eponymous record, which has been certified platinum in both the UK and US, was both a commercial and critical success, with Rolling Stone magazine naming the LP as one of the top 100 greatest debut albums of all time.

Since their debut effort, Vampire Weekend have gone onto release two more studio albums, Contra in 2010 and Modern Vampires of the City in 2013. Modern Vampires of the City earned the band their first Grammy Award in 2014, taking home the prize for the Best Alternative Music Album.

Some of Vampire Weekend’s most well-known tracks include A-PunkOxford Comma, Cousins and Diane Young.

The band are currently gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated fourth album Father of the Bride. The record will be the band’s first release in nearly six years, and their first release on major label Columbia Records. Father of the Bride is due for release on 3 May 2019.

Vampire Weekend have dropped four singles from the album so far. Harmony Hall and 2021 were released simultaneously in January and last week the band dropped latest tracks Sunflower and Big Blue. Watch the Jonah Hill directed video for Sunflower starring Jerry Seinfeld below:
