Wildwood Kin headline the Under The Apple Tree tour

The Bob Harris-curated sessions will hit the road for the first time in 2019.

Broadcast legend Bob Harris OBE has announced he’ll be taking his much respected Under The Apple Tree sessions out on the road next year with the Under The Apple Tree tour.

The newly announced tour kicks off in Oxford on Thursday 25 April 2019, taking in a total of 10 shows, concluding at the Waterfront Studio in Norwich on Tuesday 7 May 2019.

Wildwood Kin will headline the shows and will be joined by local artists on each date of the tour, handpicked by Bob.

Curated by BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris, Under The Apple Tree is one of the most well respected online/live platforms for Country music in the UK. The platform has hosted and curated stages at live events such as Country Music Week, Country to Country and Black Deer Festival.

Indie-folk trio Wildwood Kin, who credit bands such as Fleetwood Mac and Mumford & Sons as their biggest influences will headline all dates of the tour. The band released their debut album Turning Tides in 2017 to critical acclaim. The album, which features tracks such as Run, The Author and Steady My Heart debuted within the top-40 on the Official UK Albums chart.

The trio’s music has been streamed more than 15 million times, and they’ve performed live at festivals such as Latitude, Boomtown and Glastonbury.

Since establishing himself as a trusted and influential broadcaster in the late ’60s, Bob Harris has been a trailblazer in championing Americana music in the UK. The broadcaster, affectionally known as Whispering Bob Harris was awarded an OBE in 2011 for his services to music.

Speaking about the tour, Bob said:
