The Kent weekender keeps getting bigger.
Wizkid has announced he’ll be bringing his Starboy Fest to the UK to headline across two huge shows.
The newly announced dates will see the superstar and fellow Starboy artists take to the stage at O2 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester on 18 October 2019 and The O2, London on 19 October 2019.
The news comes following the performer’s rousing headline set at last month’s The Ends Festival in Croyden.
Wizkid first broke through in 2009 with the release of his debut album Superstar. Featuring the singles Holla at Your Boy, Tease Me/Bad Guys and Don’t Dull, the album was met with positive reviews and made Wizkid a household name in his home country.
Following his debut, the singer has released two more studio albums, 2014’s Ayo and 2017’s effort Sounds from the Other Side.
Sounds from the Other Side is the singer’s most commercially successful LP to date in the US and UK, breaking into the charts on both sides of the pond. The album features guest appearances from superstars such as Drake and Major Lazer.
In 2016, Wizkid achieved huge success with his guest appearance on the Drake hit One Dance. Taken from the album Views, One Dance topped the charts in 15 countries across the globe, including the UK where it sat at No.1 for a record-breaking 15 weeks.
Last year Wizkid continued to show his appreciation for UK music, collaborating with London grime maker Skepta on the track Energy (Stay Far Away).
The singer will return to the UK, headlining Starboy Fest in the UK. More acts for the shows will be announced soon.
Here are the dates:
18 October 2019 – O2 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester
19 October 2019 – The O2, London
Tickets for the newly announced shows will be available from 9:00 Friday 14 June 2019 through Ticketmaster.co.uk.
