Cabaret is coming to the Blackpool Opera House

Kander and Ebb’s landmark musical Cabaret will be coming to Blackpool in October.

Set in 1931, Cabaret sees Sally Bowles perform at the infamous Kit Kat Klub in Berlin during the Nazi rise to power. The musical originally opened on Broadway back in 1966, and reached London in 1968 with Judi Dench in the lead role.

The production will be touring the UK, reaching Blackpool on Tuesday 3 October, and running until Saturday 7 October. Directed by National Theatre Artistic Director Rufus Norris and choreographed by Olivier Award winner Javier de Frutos, it has already enjoyed runs in the West End at both the The Lyric and The Savoy theatres.

Since opening in Broadway, Cabaret has celebrated eight Oscars, seven BAFTAs and thirteen Tonys, including for its critically acclaimed film adaptation featuring Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey.

The show features stage classics such as Money Makes The World Go Round, Maybe This Time and the title-track, Cabaret.
