Dogstival is launching in May 2019

Enjoy an amazing festival experience with your dog this summer in the New Forest.

Summer is festival season, which means lots of fun in the sun – and now dogs can get in on that action too.

A brand new two-day event called Dogstival has been announced for the South of England. Set to take place on 18 and 19 May 2019 at Pylewell Park Estate in the New Forest, there’ll be something for everyone… whether you’re a dog, a kid or the parent of either.

A celebration of all things dog related, Dogstival intends to treat your pooch to the best day of its life. So expect a variety of canine activities such as an agility course, flyball and treasure hunt. A grooming lounge will provide plenty of pampering, and water-loving dogs will be able to take a dip in the K9 Aquasplash or wade in at Pylewell Park Estate’s very own beach.

Also aiming to raise awareness about responsible pet ownership, Dogstival will offer expert talks from a wide range of guests. Learn about the mental health of your furry friend at the behavioural stage while you meet thousands of other owners with different breeds.

Environmentalist and wildlife expert Chris Packham, who’s also a local resident and dog lover, will be hosting Dogstival. He believes there are many facets to the overall health and wellbeing of our pets which he hopes the festival will explore.

“I’m really excited to be a part of Dogstival launching in the New Forest,” says Packham, whose poodle Scratchy is the epicentre of his life. “It’s going to be a great day out for dogs of all shapes and sizes, but importantly a chance to learn more about your best friend and the amazing habitat and environment around us.”

Packham shares more about what you can expect from Dogstival in the video below.

In addition, Dogstival will feature a line-up packed with family-friendly, dog-friendly things to watch and experience. See exciting dog display teams from across the UK including Paws for Thought, Shadow Quest and Rockwood Display. Shop doggy retail stands and sample foods from local artisan producers. There’ll even be a vintage fun fair with a big wheel as well as live music and a photo booth.

With two amazing fun-filled days planned, Dogstival is a festival for dogs that humans won’t want to miss.
