Now open at The O2 in London, this stunning exhibition is a one-of-kind experience that celebrates the iconic super heroes and super villains that have become an integral part of our pop culture.

Featuring more than 200 original comic book pages, around 300 preparatory sketches and concept artworks from the DC cinematic universe, this interactive and immersive exhibition invites audiences into the inner sanctum of the worlds of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and more.

A journey through time

Beginning with the man who started it all, Superman, DC Exhibition: Dawn of Super Heroes charts the hero’s humble beginnings in Action Comics up to Christopher Reeve’s legendary portrayal of the character in the 1978 film and beyond – including Henry Cavill’s depiction of the role in the more recent Man of Steel (2013) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).

Through a series of rooms, fans can relive key moments from Superman’s history, bringing them closer to the character than ever before. From Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster’s original artwork, to original costumes from the films, there’s even the chance to hear luminaries such as Zack Snyder discussing their interpretations and understanding of the character through a series of film clips and immersive, interactive voice-over featurettes.

Go behind-the-scenes

From there, fans are able to walk through the continuing exhibition, which runs in chronological order, and offers guests a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the mythical DC Universe.

Fans can immerse themselves in rooms dedicated to Batman – including vehicles and set designs from Christopher Nolan’s iconic The Dark Knight trilogy – and costumes and props from every on-screen iteration of the Caped Crusader: including Jack Nicholson’s and Heath Ledger’s costumes as the Joker, Danny DeVito’s the Penguin, and even Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Mr Freeze from Joel Schumacher’s camp classic Batman and Robin (1997). Other rooms are dedicated to the whole roster of heroes direct from across the pages of DC comic books.

Everything in one place

Filled with artefacts from across the DC universe, other highlights include the chance to see exclusive artwork from Patty Jenkins’ highly-acclaimed Wonder Woman (2017), as well as other recent movies such as Suicide Squad (2016) and Justice League (2017). There’s also the chance to see original drawings of iconic scenes from world-renowned artists including Jim Lee, Bob Kane, Neal Adams, Frank Miller, Alex Ross and many more.

From Lynda Carter’s original Woman Woman costume to modern-day versions of all of these beloved characters, DC Exhibition: Dawn of Super Heroes offers fans an unrivalled look at the rich history and unique mythology that has made DC such a success over the last 80 years – it’s a must for anyone who has ever opened a comic and marvelled and the majesty of the coloured panels of incredible artwork and exciting adventures.
