Now in its second year, Secret Camping Weekend is a new concept offering visitors a laid back campsite for a weekend away with friends and family, with a difference. These campsites offer so much more to experience and enjoy.

Taking place from the 24 – 27 August 2018 at Swanage in Dorset, here’s our guide to all things Secret Camping Weekend.

Will there be music?

Secret Camping weekend have it covered with DJs playing laid back music throughout the day so visitors can enjoy their picnics, beers and ciders under the sun. Then, when people fancy a bit more of a party at night, they amp it up and have themed parties and DJ sets to get everyone dancing. The theme for this year is “gold and glitter”, offering an atmosphere similar to a big cool wedding where everyone is having fun. This is not a rave or mosh pit type environment.

What else can people experience?

There’s a local gin distillery coming down to give workshops on how to make your own gin and flavour combinations, a craft beer workshop, old school sports day, trips to natural beauty spots, wine and cheese tasting, a large outdoor cinema showing The Greatest Showman, hot tubs, outdoor yoga, smartphone photography workshop, pizza making, street food vendors, African drumming, and mountain bike hire. This is really just the start. The list goes on.

What can visitors expect?

All of the above promises a social experience, with lots of likeminded people enjoying a weekend away with friends and family.

Is it aimed at a certain age group?

The majority of visitors tend to be between 25 and 45, having a weekend together with friends, a couples retreat or bringing their young families. That being said, there’s a range of experiences that everyone can enjoy. The main thing is that everyone comes together with the same welcoming and friendly vibe, and to have a good time.

Is the event child friendly?

Definitely. There are loads of experiences that are child-friendly and families are positioned further away from any late-night entertainment, so they’re not disturbed by the noise.

When does Secret Camping Weekend take place?
