The Art Of The Brick comes to Manchester

Tickets to see Nathan Sawaya's awe-inspiring LEGO® exhibition are on sale now.

Nathan Sawaya’s globally renowned The Art Of The Brick exhibition is set to open in Manchester’s The Great Northern Warehouse on 22 November 2019, running until 20 April 2020.

The Art Of The Brick showcases over 1 million pieces of LEGO® masterfully positioned into 75 stunning pieces of art and has been hailed as a “must-see exhibition” by CNN.

Popular pieces from the show, which has been touring globally over the past 12 years include My Boy, Dinosaur and the epic recreation of the Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece Mona Lisa. The Manchester exhibition will also feature pieces never seen in the UK before.

The show is the brainchild of former New York City lawyer Nathan Sawaya, who is the first contemporary artist to use LEGO® as an art medium.

Sawaya comments: “I use LEGO® bricks as my medium because I enjoy seeing people’s reactions to artwork created from something with which they are familiar. Everyone can relate to it since it is a toy that many children have at home”.

He continues: “The museum exhibition is accessible because it engages the child in all of us while simultaneously illuminating sophisticated and complex concepts”.

Since debuting in 2007, The Art Of The Brick has attracted millions of visitors in cities such as Paris, Shanghai, Moscow and Sydney. Its last UK location was at London’s Old Truman Brewery, where it extended its stay from four to seven months due to phenomenal demand.

The Art Of The Brick is showing at The Great Northern Warehouse, Manchester from 22 November 2019 – 20 April 2020.

Sunday – Wednesday: 10:00 – 18:00 (last entry 17:00)
Thursday: 10:00 – 20:00 (last entry 19:00)
Friday – Saturday: 10:00 – 19:00 (last entry 18:00)
