Cirque du Soleil have confirmed they’ll be bringing their acrobatic ice spectacular Crystal to the UK next year.

The tour kicks off in Sheffield on Friday 6 March, before heading to Aberdeen, Manchester, Birmingham and Nottingham.

Crystal blends circus arts and ice skating, transporting audiences to a whimsical frozen playground where they’ll witness world-class ice skating combined with awe-inspiring acrobatics.

The show tells the story of Crystal; a young creative woman who feels misunderstood and out of tune with her environment. Wanting to escape her reality, she ventures out on a frozen pond, falling through the ice and ending up in an upside-down world.

Crystal asks audiences to suspend reality and glide into a world full of colour, breathtaking visuals and a score that blends pop music with the iconic sounds of Cirque du Soleil that are adored throughout the world.

First premiering in Canada in 2017, Crystal is Cirque du Solei’s 42nd original show and their first on ice.

Since Cirque du Solei’s inception, the company has performed shows to over 200 million people in more than 450 cities across the globe.

Crystal was created by Shana Carroll and Sebastien Soldevila. The cast features 43 artists and more than 40 crew members from 24 different countries.

Featuring a vast array of skating styles including extreme, freelance and figure skating, Crystal will come to the UK for the first time next year.
