The award-winning West End musical Dreamgirls will embark on its first ever tour of the UK next year.

The musical will open in Bristol in September 2020 before heading to Milton Keynes, Blackpool, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Birmingham

Dreamgirls follows The Dreams, Effie, Lorrell and Deena, as they navigate the turbulent 1960s, a revolutionary time in American music history.

Taking on the musical rollercoaster ride through a world of fame, fortune and the ruthless realities of show business, it tests the friendship of Effie White and her fellow singers.

With music by Henry Krieger and a book by Tom Eyen, the fictitious plot is inspired by the real-life exploits of The Supremes, The Shirelles and more aspiring 1960s acts.

The musical includes massive songs such as And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going and Listen.
