The latest Hamildrop is here and sees Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda reprise the title role from the award-winning phenomenon.

The new track Cheering For Me Now is a love letter to New York City. The accompanying visuals for the song see Miranda performing on stage dressed as the title character from the musical, overlaid with images of the city and its inhabitants. Watch the new video for the new track above.

The song is a collaboration between Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and Chicago and Cabaret composer John Kander. Hamildrops are a monthly release of content, inspired by the hit musical Hamilton. Previous Hamildrops have included music from artists such as Mobb Deep, Sara Bareilles and Ibeyi.

Hamilton is a modern cultural phenomenon. The show, which tells the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton through the medium of rap music is the recipient of eleven Tony Awards and the soundtrack has been streamed millions of times.

Originally a Broadway production, Hamilton opened in London’s West End at the newly refurbished Victoria Palace Theatre last year to rave reviews and sell-out shows. The show even received the royal stamp of approval earlier this year when Harry and Meghan attended a performance. The Duke of Sussex even took to the stage to sing a bar of one of the musical’s most famous songs.

The West End production of Hamilton is currently booking until March 2019. Tickets for Hamilton are available now through Ticketmaster.co.uk
