With so much to see, here’s the current breakdown of who’s heading to Live In The Square in Mayfair.
When: 27 – 29 July 2018
The English National Ballet brings world-class ballet to fans. The evening promises classical and contemporary work, featuring leading talents from across the world. The performance will also feature young talent, including the ENBYouthCo.
When: 1 – 5 August 2018
The all-female cast promises breath-taking acrobatics, aerial feats and masterful juggling. Billed as a story of change, hope and belonging, the event is hosted by the contemporary circus company, telling stories about human connection. The production tells the tale of an explosion frozen in time, the remnants of the big top caught mid air.
When: 8 – 12 August 2018
By the same company delivering The Exploded Circus, Mimbre was commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Comany to create Wondrous Strange, celebrating Shakespeare’s 400th anniversary. The result is a physical and visual reimagination of his iconic plays.
When: 15 August 2018
Electronic music pioneer St Germain finds inspiration in a mixture of machines and instruments. Drawing from blues, jazz and more, expect hypnotic loops and vocal samples. St Germain will be joined by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Pete Josef, blending together jazz, soul, pop and electro.
When: 16 August 2018
Debbie and Kim, daughters of entrepreneur and actress Florez Sledge and Broadway performer Edwin Sledge, take to Grosvenor Square to perform their iconic jazz, soul, gospel, disco and R&B. They’ll be joined by funk and soul DJ, actor, and British institution Craig Charles.
When: 17 August 2018
Described by The Guardian as “stunning”, and The Observer as “full of brilliance and charm”, Submotion Orchestra began in 2009. Blending electronica, jazz, soul and ambient sounds, their unique sound is set to take to Grosvenor Square with music from their fifth studio album Kites.
When: 18 August 2018
Across two years, Matthew Herbert has teamed up with collaborators from across Europe, celebrating art, music and culture across national borders. The project will culminate with an album release at the same moment Britain leaves the EU in 2019.
