Mary Poppins extends West End run into September 2020
The musical is now showing at London's Prince Edward Theatre.
Disney Theatrical Productions and Cameron Mackintosh’s critically acclaimed and award-winning production of Mary Poppins has returned to its original home of the Prince Edward Theatre, London.

Earlier this year it was announced that Zizi Strallen will return to star in the title role following great acclaim on the recent sell-out tour. Charlie Stemp, who recently made his Broadway debut in the production of Hello, Dolly! and shot to stardom in Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Half a Sixpence, will play the role of Bert in the much-loved story.
Alongside these leading stars, Amy Griffiths will play Mrs Banks, Claire Moore will play Miss Andrew, Claire Machin will take on the role of Mrs Brill and Barry James will portray Admiral Boom.
Joseph Millson plays the role of George Banks and Petula Clark will portray the Bird Woman.
The ensemble cast includes Yves Adang, Lydia Bannister, Angeline Bell, Lydia Boulton, Matt Cox, Adam Davidson, Katie Deacon, Danielle Delys, Joshua Denyer, Stan Doughty, Glen Facey, Davide Fienauri, Ian Gareth-Jones, Mark Goldthorp, Joanna Gregory, Catherine Hannay, Jacqueline Hughes, Jason Kajdi, Sam Lathwood, Jordan Livesey, Ceili O’Connor, Malinda Parris, Alex Pinder, Ben Redfern, Rachel Spurrell,Lucie-Mae Sumner, Rhys West and Monique Young.

Set at the turn of the century, Mary Poppins tells the tale of the world’s favourite nanny who arrives at a house on Cherry Tree Lane to help two neglected children become closer to their father. The stage adaptation of the classic 1960s film brings the story to life with dazzling choreography, amazing effects and unforgettable songs.
In December 2018 fans got a chance to reconnect with the whimsical character when a sequel to the 1964 classic film Mary Poppins Returns was released. The picture, starring Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda, has received rave reviews and numerous award nominations.
The theatre production of Mary Poppins originally opened in the West End in December 2004, running for three years and winning two Olivier Awards. The show has subsequently enjoyed an extended run on Broadway and has toured in countries such as the UK, the US, Australia and New Zealand.
Speaking about the show’s return to the nation’s capital, co-producer Cameron Mackintosh commented: “I’m thrilled to be bringing the internationally acclaimed new staging of Pamela Travers’ magical stories back to London in the autumn of 2019, with Disney, featuring the dazzling talents of Zizi Strallen and Charlie Stemp as Mary and Bert. The original production, over 14 years ago, only played London and Broadway and subsequently was revised and continues to be staged around the world with phenomenal success.
“The recent UK tour, starring Zizi as Mary, broke box office records everywhere it played. It has been particularly gratifying that the stage musical with its brilliant script by Julian Fellowes and wonderful new score by Stiles and Drewe, complementing the Sherman Brothers’ classic songs, has taken on its own magical life separate from the film, appealing to audiences of all ages and nationalities. Its story of the importance of family is at the heart of the show and the reason why this iconic British nanny remains irresistibly timeless and popular the world over.”
