Andy Mace to play Grandad in Only Fools And Horses

The musical version of the hit TV sitcom is now booking until 8 February 2020.

Producers have confirmed that Andy Mace has taken over the role of Grandad in the West End production of Only Fools and Horses.

Mace takes over the role from Paul Whitehouse, who will be taking a well-earned break, returning to the show in several months time.

Mace has been with the show since its opening, playing Mike The Barman, whilst also covering the role of Grandad.

Phillip Childs will be filling the shoes left by Mace, taking on the Mike The Barman role.

The musical production of Only Fools and Horses is now showing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, London.

Tickets are available now for performances up until 8 February 2020

What you need to know

Mais ouis, mais ouis, the world may have changed a lot since we first bid a jovial au revoir to the Trotters of Peckham, but good ‘ol Del Boy, Rodney and the rest of the gang haven’t changed a bit… well, apart from the odd spontaneous bursting into song here, and the occasional dancing across the market, there.

The landmark, record-breaking and top-rated television series Only Fools and Horses, written by the late, great John Sullivan, undoubtedly holds a special place in the hearts of the British public. Now John’s son, Jim, has teamed up with comedy giant Paul Whitehouse to write and produce a script and score to honour his father’s legacy – recreating the iconic series into a brand-new, home-grown British musical spectacular. So maybe they have changed just a bit.

In this new production, Andy Mace takes centre stage as Grandad, replacing Paul Whitehouse who will return at a later date, uniting with Tom Bennett as Del Boy and Ryan Hutton as Rodney in this unique showstopper. The new production opened at Theatre Royal Haymarket, in the heart of London’s West End in February 2019.

West End star Dianne Pilkington (last seen in Young Frankenstein), stars as Raquel, Pippa Duffy as Cassandra and Jeff Nicholson as Boycie. Marlene will be played by Samantha Seager, Trigger will be played by Peter Baker and Denzil will be played by Adrian Irvine. The Driscoll Brothers is played by Pete Gallagher and Adam Venus, Mickey Pearce is played by Chris Kiely and Mike the Barman is played by Phillip Childs.
