With tonight’s announcement that the award-winning weekly podcast is set to embark on a UK theatre tour this November, we thought we’d share some fun trivia about it with you.
No Such Thing As a Fish features four presenters – Dan Schreiber, James Harkin, Anna Ptaszynski and Andrew Hunter Murray – who discuss the strangest and most amusing facts they’ve discovered over the past seven days. The show has been named by iTunes UK among its top 10 most downloaded podcasts of 2016.
Below you’ll find some other interesting stuff about No Such Thing As a Fish… and don’t worry, we won’t put you to a test!
1.) Schreiber, Harkin, Ptaszynski and Hunter Murray are the ones who research, write and produce the BBC comedy panel quiz QI. They’re also known as the “QI Elves”.
2.) According to Schreiber, the podcast originally started “as four dorks sitting around a single microphone trying to make each other laugh”.
3.) No Such Thing As a Fish was launched in March 2014. As of today, there are 157 episodes.
4.) This is just a sampling of the bizarre topics they’ve discussed over the past three years: jean cleaning, Godzilla’s toilet habits, sex lives of spiders, illegal doorknobs, iceberg cowboys, meaty rain, rehab for drunk birds, saunas in the Sinai desert, the lizard of Oz and much, much more!
5.) The podcast has racked up a whopping 55 million downloads and received two Chortle Awards.
6.) Last year, the foursome landed their own BBC2 show called No Such Thing As the News on which they share fascinating things they find in the news each week.
