Disney’s The Lion King is now showing in Edinburgh
The smash hit musical is in town for a limited time only.
Disney’s The Lion King has roared into Edinburgh.
The production is open now at the Edinburgh Playhouse, with performances booking until Saturday 18 April 2020.

One of the most successful musicals of all time, over 100 million people across the globe have seen The Lion King since it premiered on Broadway in 1997.
The London production of the show recently celebrated its twentieth birthday, having opened at The Lyceum Theatre in October 1999. The show still regularly draws sell out crowds.
Based on the 1994 Walt Disney animated feature film of the same name, The Lion King is set against the majesty of the Serengeti Plains and follows Simba, the wide-eyed cub who must follow in his father’s footsteps to become King of the Pridelands.
The film was a box office smash and hugely well-received critically.
The Lion King stage adaptation features music by Elton John, lyrics by Tim Rice and book by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi, with additional music and lyrics from Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, Julie Taylor and Hans Zimmer.
The musical includes fan favourite songs such as Hakuna Matata, I Just Can’t Wait To Be King, Circle Of Life, and the Academy Award-winning Can You Feel The Love Tonight.

Last year a whole new generation were exposed to the magic of The Lion King with the release of the live-action remake of the film, starring Donald Glover as Simba and Beyoncé as Nala.
