When you go to the theatre, who says you just have to sit and watch? A brand new immersive theatrical experience is landing in London this autumn – one that will take you into the secret world of International Rescue.

Limelight Productions and ebp (Emma Brunjes Productions), in collaboration with ITV Studios, have announced the world premiere of Thunderbirds: Beyond the Horizon on 7 November 2018.

It’s based on the original Thunderbirds sci-fi action series created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. Launched in the mid ’60s, the show follows ex-astronaut and multimillionaire philanthropist Jeff Tracy who created the secret organisation International Rescue to help save lives across the globe. He’s joined by his five sons as well as aristocrat-turned-agent Lady Penelope and highly intelligent engineer and inventor Brains in an array of adventures that include everything from explosions and bridge collapses to out-of-control fires.

Everyone involved with bringing Thunderbirds back to life in this new way is “beyond” excited.

“Having watched the original series as a boy, the iconic countdown, ‘5-4–3–2–1… Thunderbirds are Go!’ is enough to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. My ambition has always been to have our audience experience the visceral feeling of being rescued by a Thunderbird,” said Richard Lewis from Limelight Productions. “It’s not an easy task, so much so that we have had to build our own venue in London to do so!”

Thunderbirds: Beyond the Horizon will play in a new custom-built theatre called The Buzz. Located at Mercato Metropolitana (between Borough and Elephant & Castle), it will be the first venue of its kind constructed as a fully flexible performance arts space for immersive and interactive theatrical events in the capital.

“All our immersive productions have been technically and creatively complicated and encourage you to escape, but this one offers us the chance to push the boundaries even further,” said Emma and Ralph Brunjes from ebp.

So get ready for a one-of-a-kind experience that will test your nerves. At Thunderbirds: Beyond the Horizon, you’ll be part the excitement as you join a mission to save The Horizon Project.

You see, The Hood has infiltrated Brains’ lab and his work for The Horizon Project is facing a cyber-attack with catastrophic consequences. The Tracy brothers have been compromised, leaving the Thunderbirds immobilised… except for one. So the team will need your help to stop The Hood before time runs out.

Thunderbirds: Beyond the Horizon will run from 7 November 2018 – 27 January 2019. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.co.uk.
