Celebrating their first birthday this week, TINA – The Tina Turner Musical, based on the life of the legendary music icon has extended until 11 January 2020.

Last week, two new cast members joined the hit West End musical.
Nkeki Obi-Melekwe makes her West End debut in TINA – The Tina Turner Musical in the title role of Tina Turner. The performer made her professional Off-Broadway debut last month in Alice and her television credits include Showtime’s Smilf and Bull for CBS.
Taking on the role of Ike Turner is Ashley Zhangazha. Ashley last appeared on stage in Death of a Salesman at Manchester’s Royal Exchange. His other theatre credits include Hamlet, Guys and Dolls, Henry V and Fences.
Adrienne Warren, who played the role of Tina since the show’s opening will lead the Broadway production of the musical, premiering in autumn 2019.
From humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessee, to her transformation into the global Queen of Rock’n’Roll, Tina Turner didn’t just break the rules, she rewrote them. This new stage musical, presented in association with Tina Turner herself, reveals the untold story of a woman who dared to defy the bounds of her age, gender and race.
TINA – The Tina Turner Musical has been written by Katori Hall, alongside Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins. Choreography comes from Anthony van Laast, with set and costume design by Mark Thompson.
TINA – The Tina Turner Musical will now run until 11 January 2020 at London’s Aldwych Theatre.
