The National Theatre’s production of War Horse has returned to London until 23 November 2019.

The production is running at London’s Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, an exciting new venue located moments away from Wembley Stadium.

War Horse, based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, tells the story of Albert and his horse Joey as both fight for the British in World War I. Albert is driven by his love for Joey, and his quest to find him, as Joey ends up serving on both sides before landing in No Man’s Land.

With the show is renowned for its ground-breaking puppetry work, bringing the animals to life on stage, young reporter Emily visited the theatre to meet Puppetry Director, Gareth Aled, and the Baby Joey puppeteer team, whilst getting hands on and learning some puppetry techniques. Emily discovers just what goes into making the world-class puppets, and into bringing the animals to life on stage night after night.

War Horse is adapted by Nick Stafford, presented in association with Handspring Puppet Company, and is recommended for those aged 10+ plus.
